Abstract
The study assessed factors that affect credit risk management in developmental bank of Ethiopia of (DBE). The research was carried out by analyzing the process of accessing Administration and monitoring, Operational efficiency, Credit granting process and Marketing risk analysis. The descriptive survey method was used for the study qualitative and quantitative approach. Sample size of 30 members of staff was drawn from the development head and Credit department staff. Primary and secondary sources of data were used for the study. Questionnaires were used as the main instrument to collect the primary data. Among the major findings of the study are; credit administration and monitoring process, the study implied that, appropriate Credit administration, measurement and monitoring process are maintained somewhat in line with guideline of developmental bank of Ethiopia. A major recommendation of the study was Hence, improving performance require to institute a strong credit risk management system that can efficiently identify bank able borrowers and a system that can monitor their performance after the loan is granted. The overall credit risk management activity of the bank is needs improvement in devising a strong follow-up unit, devising an office that can control the condition and sanctions at each approval document, establishing coordination among work units.
