dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to asses the possibility of school age children’s exposure to sexually explicit materials and also to asses parental awareness on the subject in nifas silk lafto sub city Addis Ababa. The study followed a qualitative research approach specifically the study employed a face to face interview for eight parents and eight children. The participants were obtained through snowball sampling and the data was analysed by using interpretive phenomenological analysis. The findings of the study show that there is a discrepancy between children’s and parent’s reality. This study can contribute in equipping parents with the necessary awareness to protect their children from early exposure to sexually explicit materials.
