This study aimed at identifying the relationships between coaches’ micro-plan load distributions and athletes’ subjective load response in week of middle-distance events in three Addis Ababa first divisions Athletics clubs. The study applied cross sectional study design as a general approach. From five first division athletics clubs three clubs were randomly selected with total sample of 30 participants in the study. Both qualitative and quantitative method have been utilized to analyze the collected data through questionnaire and interview. The subjective load responses of thirty middle-distance runners were measured for training volume and session rate of perceive exertion (RPE) (daily), training session and training monotony (weekly) for a single micro-plan and descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, standard division, standard error and mean) also included to interpret the result. The match between coaches’ predefined plan and athletes’ load response were varied; therefore, performance of individual athletes was also varied within and between three club athletes. The findings of the study indicated that the predefined plan has a direct or indirect impact on middle distance athletes. The more experienced athletes show a better sRPE and result than the other.
