| dc.description.abstract | Background: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a serious cause of liver disease affecting millions of people throughout the world. When HBV is acquired during pregnancy, prenatal transmission can occur to the fetus. Objective: This study is aimed at determining the prevalence and associated factors of HBV infection among pregnant women attending Antenatal Clinic (ANC) for routine pregnancy check-up of Adigrat General Hospital, Tigray Ethiopia. Method: A hospital based cross-sectional study design will be conducted on 350 pregnant women visiting ANC between March 1/2019 and April 30/2019. Data regarding sociodemographic associated factors, hospital associated factors and risky cultural and behavioral factors will be gathered using questionnaire. Cards of the participant pregnant women will be checked for the presence of HPV. Data will be analyzed using SPSS version 20. Work plan and budget: the study will be performed within 8 months, and the total cost of this study will be covered 25,146.00 ETB. | en_US |
