dc.description.abstractThis research is conducted to assess the portrayal of Tigray conflict on ETV.The Tigray conflict which is also known as the north conflict has lasted two years. During this time, people usually watch news for further information about the situation and Medias, specially the public ones has given wide coverage day and night. ETV as a national media has committed itself in reporting the conflict from the studio and from the places where the conflict were active. The research questions have focused on how ETV portrayed the root cause of the conflict, how ETV covered the incident in regard to professional discipline and its psychological impact on reporters who engaged in the conflict reporting. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches are applied here to conduct the research. Among reporters in ETV, 20 respondents who reported the incident and 3 interviewees who are in a different position to give directions to reporters are included. In addition, some sample news productions are also analyzed. The research is guided by framing theory and social responsibility theory. For the findings identified by the research, conclusion and recommendations are also included.
