Abstract
This study was conducted to assess result oriented teachers performance
evaluation system implementation in government secondhand schools of Shimeles
Habte, Misrak Goh and Temeja Yazu which are found in Kirkos sub city of Addis
Ababa Administration. Under this study process and problems of result oriented
teachers pelformance evaluation system implementation were the major focus of
the study. To achieve the purpose of the study, a descriptive survey method
supported by qualitative study was employed. The study was conducted in three
governmental secondary schools found in Kirlcos sub city of Addis Ababa. The
respondents of the study were both 13 appraisers (principals, vice principals and
depart711.ent heads) and 39 appraisers (teachers). To select these sample
respondents, simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques were
employed.
Questionnaire interview and document analysis were instruments employed for
data collection. Data were gathered from respondents through close ended question
developed based on a six lileer scale and few open ended questions.
In addition to this, data were collected through interview of appraisers and
appraisers and document analysis. The statistical tools employed in analyzing the
data were frequency percentage, mean score and weighted mean. The study
revealed that the purpose of result oriented teachers performance evaluation
system in government secondary schools of Shimels Habete, Misrak Goh and
Temong Yazu found in Kirkos sub city of Addis Ababa was not successfully
achieved as intended. Besides neither appraiser appraises of secondary schools of
Shimeles Habte, Misrak Goh nor Temenja Yazu found in kirkos sub city of Addis
Ababa were participated in the development of result oriented teachers
performance evaluation criteria.
