The data pertinent to the study was gathered through a standardized questionnaire in four areas i.e. basic background information, mental distress level, coping mechanisms and resilience building level. The data was analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical principles. In the research, the number of children of street are increased to flow the capital city mainly due to poverty, peer pressure and conflict with parents. On resilience building issues, the finding was revealed that the children of streets those have secondary education level are better in the resilience building rather than primary school and non-education respectively.Item Electrical Conductivity and Drift Mobility in Heavily Doped n-type Silicon with MIXED SCATTERING(Addis Ababa University, 2003-06) Gizaw, GirmaIn this thesis I have calculated the electrical conductivity and drift mobility in heavily doped n-type silicon in the presence of band tail effects considering mixed scattering of ionized impurities and acoustic phonons. The results of the calculation show that the electrical conductivity can be as much as 58% lower than the value obtained by using parabolic density of states and the drift mobility in heavily doped n-type silicon on the other hand is 40% lower than the value calculated using parabolic density of statesItem The Role of Ngos in Attaining Universal Primary Education With A Focus on Reading,Writing and Numeracy: the Case of Ada Berga Woreda Primary Schools(Addis Ababa University, 2013-06) Gizaw, Girma; Chalchisa, Desalegn (PhD)The purpose of this study was to examine the role of NGOs in attaining universal primary education (UPE) with a focus on reading, writing and numeracy at Ada BergaWoreda Western Showa Zone of Oromia region. The study was carried out by examining NGOs roles in the universal primary education activities as compared to the schools supported by the government. Descriptive survey method was used to attain the objective of the study. Purposive sampling; stratified sampling and random sampling technique were employed to select respondents of the study. Students were selected using stratified sampling whereas, teachers, Woreda education head were selected using purposive sampling and random sampling was employed to select cluster supervisors. Quantitative data gathered from the students test achievement were analyzed using F-test one way ANOVA and t-test as well as qualitative data was analyzed with themes. As the results of the study revealed, NGOs role was significant and indicated their roles in universal primary education at the Adea Berga Woreda primary schools. Among the roles NGOs played at the Woreda were: schools construction and furnishing with the necessary equipment’s ,train teachers and students, supported disadvantaged children, constructing latrine and clean water development for schools, support budget for teachers training and girls health training, trained community to promote girls education in particular and primary education in general, and trained Woreda education officials, supervisors ,director on teaching learning process and the school management. Based on the result of the study it was recommended that due to the significant role NGOs played government should create partnership for further interventions of the NGOs in the primary school to realize universal primary educationItem The Role of Ngos In Attaining Universal Primary Education With a Focus on Reading,Writing and Numeracy: The Case of Ada Berga Woreda Primary Schools(Addis Ababa Univerisity, 2013-06) Gizaw, Girma; Chalchisa, Desalegn(PhD)The purpose of this study was to examine the role of NGOs in attaining universal primary education (UPE) with a focus on reading, writing and numeracy at Ada BergaWoreda Western Showa Zone of Oromia region.
