    Philological Investigation of the Arabic Manuscripts of Say1j Badr Al-Din of Qebena

    Over the course of the long history of Islam in Ethiopia many Ethiopian Muslim scholars wrote the biography (Sfrah) of the Prophet MuQammad. Among these is Sayb Badr ai-Din of Qabena (1923 -1989). Sayb Badr ai-Din, using many books as references, wrote six Arabic works on different topics, mostly theological. This thesis catalogues these works, and gives a close analysis of his Sfrah manuscript. One major concern of this analysis is to find out the trust worthiness of Sayb Badr aI-DIn's biographical account according to early and modern Sfrah works.
