Item The Development of Process Flow Sheet for Froth Flotation Method of Coal Deposit in The Case of Yayo Area, South-Western Ethiopia(Addis Ababa University, 2023-06) Dagnaw Yimer; Abubeker Yimama (PhD); Enatfenta Melaku (Mr.)The aim of this project was the development of froth flotation flow sheet by using METSIM simulation software to create the flotation flow sheet for the Yayo coal deposit. The most popular technique for recovering and treating that portion of the coal preparation plant that has a fine particle size is froth flotation. The design of flotation technology undertakes is a challenging errors, since in data calculation and flow sheet developing were relatively simple to made and require frequent adjustment of instrument. This study, which was carried out in the development of the flotation flow sheet using METSIM simulation software, the proximate analysis value, ultimate analysis value, ash content and the calorific value were analyzed for the particle sizes, which were 500, 250, 125 and 63μm taken as a secondary data from the previous work studded on Yayo area in southwestern Ethiopia. From these particle size distribution 125 μm has more appropriate for high quality coal production and high percentage yield in this study based on METSIM simulation software. These were done for proximate analysis that simulated using simulation software the moisture content value of the coal is 21.25%, volatile matter values 22.3% and ash content 6.42%. The average value of the ultimate analysis of coal were 62.022% carbon, 4.558% hydrogen, 27.1653% oxygen and 12.87% sulfur obtained from the METSIM software simulated. The carbon content result obtained from METSIM simulation software is 79.49%, this shows the grade of the coal at the study area is bituminous coal.
