dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to investigate the effect of e-banking technology on staff size in the Ethiopian banking sector. The explanatory strategy of the quantitative research approach was used to identify the effect of independent variables (ATM, POS machine, internet banking and mobile banking) on dependent variable (staff size). The study used panel data during the period 2014 to 2021 and selected six banking firms from the total banking firms operates in Ethiopia using their better familiarity with electronic banking. Multi-linear regression analysis has been performed using fixed effect model. The study finds that ATM and mobile banking have positive and significantly effect on staff size. On the other hand, POS machine has a positive and statistically insignificant effect. In addition to that, the staff size has been positively and significantly affected by internet banking. The study recommended that banks may work on creating awareness or change the system on create awareness for their e-banking products to the society because this may lead banks into more efficient and effective use of existing technology.
