| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of leadership styles on organizational commitment of Betzata General Hospital and Girum General Hospital employees. To this end, the effect of transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles on organizational commitment dimensions (affective, normative and continuous) has been investigated. Descriptive and correlational research design was used. A total sample of 90 employees of Betzata General Hospital and100employees of Girum General Hospitals were selected using random sampling technique. Collected data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science. Results of this study suggest that leadership style of managers has a significant effect on organizational commitment. Transformational and transactional leadership styles have positive effect on organizational commitment. However, the effect of laissez-faire leadership on organizational commitment is found out to be negative for Betzatha General Hospital but it has no effect for Girum General Hospital. On this basis, suggestions are offered to managers to increase organizational commitment of their subordinate employees by developing their leadership style.
