| dc.description.abstract | Leadership is a key element to make an organization successful. To sustain in the volatility of the current business environment leaders need to be proactive and give attention to every activity of the company as well as the external environment. The aim of the study is to investigate the role of leadership style on employee engagement in Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. To investigate the relationship between the leadership style and employee engagement descriptive research design is adopted. In the study, quantitative approach is used. The primary data collected from 76 respondents using self-administered questionnaire. The multifactor leadership questionnaire was used to investigate the leadership style exhibited and Utrecht work engagement was used to examine the engagement level of employees. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 26. Descriptive statistics namely, frequencies, percentage, mean and inferential statistics such as correlation and regression analyses were used. The result of the study revealed that transformational and transactional leadership styles have a positive correlation with employee engagement and laissez-faire leadership has a negative correlation with employee engagement. Based on the findings, appropriate recommendations were provided. | en_US |
