dc.description.abstractThis study examined the effects of leadership behavior on employee job satisfaction in Cooperative Bank of Oromia: The case of Addis Ababa City Administration, through a comprehensive quantitative research approach. Data was collected from 355 employees that were selected using stratified random sampling across various branches in Addis Ababa and the head office. The study adopted an explanatory research design. The effect of leadership behavior on employee job satisfaction is examined quantitatively using structured five point Likert scale questionnaire and regression data analysis. Descriptive statistics like mean and standard deviation was used to assess the perceived leadership behavior and employee job satisfaction and it’s presented in tables. The findings showed that the hypothesis that states directive leadership behavior has significant and positive relationship on employee job satisfaction is not accepted. The results showed that directive leadership behavior has a no significant and negative effect on job satisfaction with a sig value of .035 and β = .093, while supportive leadership behavior, participative leadership behavior, and achievement oriented leadership behavior had a significant and positive effect on employee job satisfaction. Due to the fact that directive leadership behavior has no significant and negative effect on job satisfaction the management of CBO is recommended to rather they should focus on developing more supportive, participative, and achievement oriented leadership behavior.
