Abstract

Recruitment is one of the most integral parts of human resources. This study aimed to shed light on the effectiveness of recruitment practices on organizational performance. The study has examined the recruitment practice, the effectiveness of the recruitment on organizational performance, and the challenges. Investstroyproekt LLC is a company currently operating in the southern region of Ethiopia on construction of Lot 3: Tercha – Chida (Km 58+000 – Km 0+000) of the Chida-SodoRoad Upgrading Project after signing a contract with the Ethiopian Roads Authority. The respondents' responsiveness to the study was done through interviews with 11 respondents who are employees of the organization. A descriptive-qualitative approach was used in the investigation. Non-probability judgmental sampling was used to choose the respondents. Working in the organization because they are the ones that are closest to the recruitment and are able to evaluate the organizational performance of the company. The strategy included the working position and the years of experience they have in working with the organization. The replies from the key informants were provided to establish a comprehensive knowledge of the recruitment practices used within the organization. The themes of the research show that the recruitment practice used, the effectiveness of the recruitment on the organizational performance, as well as the challenges faced, have been discussed. The study has concluded that the recruitment practices used have had an impact on the organizational performance. Since the organization is in the construction sector, other factors such as raw materials and financial issues have a much greater effect on the organization
