Anthraquinone modified carbon paste electrode is used for the determination of caffeine in coffee. The optimized pH=12 value gives an advantages of undergoing square wave voltammetry of real sample with less sample pretreatment steps. A linear calibration curve is obtained over 0- 500 M in 0.1 M NaH2PO4 and Na2HPO4 buffer solution with a detection limit (3) of 5 nM. Determination of caffeine in coffee was done by subtracting the background current. (Key words: CMCPEs, anthraquinone)en_US
