| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to assess the contributions and challenges of NGOs working on primary Education pastoralist area in Afar region zone one. The research design employed was descriptive so as to collect data from 99 respondents, who were 15 NGO staff, 14 woreda educational experts 12 teachers 58 primary school students. NGO heads, Regional Educational Experts, principals and KESB .Data for the study were collected using questionnaires, interview and focus group discussion and document analysis. Analysis of data was undertaken using tabulation, percentile distribution, mean, and standard deviation and one way ANOVA. The findings of the study unveiled that NGOs' intervention in pastoralist Afar areas had been achieved significant out Specifically the purpose of NGOs involvement in primary education under this point increasing access, increasing equity, improving quality increasing efficiency and capacity building for primary education teachers and managers was noticed to be high. Involvement and activities of NGOs in educational organization and management and the major problems of NGOs in the implementation of their activities remained average. Thus, it was recommended that:-NGOs should focus additionally on quality and efficiency to achieve EFA goal and to sustain the education provision in pastoralist Afar. NGOs should develop more the contribution of their activities K.G,ABE,Secondary education and sustain in primary Education. NGOs should participate all stake holders in planning controlling and evaluation and corporate with society to sustain their educational projects. More cooperation, communication and coordination of coordination of efforts are expected from the NGOs so as to highest their degree of excellence in project implementation and sustainability. The Federal government of Ethiopia and the Regional government of Afar region should create good ground through more political support and building essential infrastructures and they should have commuted for all activities to achieve EFA goals | |
