Complexes of silver (I) with anthranilic acid, N-phenyl anthranilic acid, 1- nitroso-2-naphthol and 2-nitroso-l-naphthol have been synthesized. The yield of all the complexes have been found to be very goode> 80%). The physical properties of the complexes have been studied. The complexes were found to be free from nitrate ion which indicated that the complexes were not in the form of ion pairs but were neutral species. All the complexes have been found to be insulators and not conductors. The composition of all the complexes were found to have a I: I (M: L)molar ratio. All the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectral studies and tentative structures of the complexes have been suggested.en_US
