Effects of Leadership Styles on Improving Employee’s Performance: The Case of Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry Share Company

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the impacts of leadership styles on improving the employee’s performance at Kadisco Paint and adhesive Industry Share Company. The study employed both descriptive and explanatory research methods. It also used quantitative and qualitative research approach. A self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection from Kadisco paint and adhesive industry Share Company employees through census methods. Hence, out of 250 questionnaires distribute 204 questionnaires were collected and used for further analysis. Moreover, the data were analyzed using descriptive and linear regressions methods using SPSS software. However, the result showed that the correlation coefficient between each independent variables (transformational leadership, transactional leadership, and democratic leadership) has positive and significant relation with employee’s performance with the value of 00.612, 0.736, 0.540, and 0.572, respectively. Moreover, among the four leadership transactional leadership is the most influential leadership style with medium level effect on employee performance than other independent variables and transformational leadership style has the second influential factor. Therefore, based on the result of the study Kadisco paint and adhesive industry Share Company better to advice orient and train its supervisors to integrate different leadership style to bring employee performance.
