Abstract
The dominance of an individual-based performance appraisal and lack of corporate teamwork culture, affects the performance of the bank as well as the effectiveness of teamwork in Enat bank S.C. The main objective of the study is to investigate the effect of teamwork on the performance of Enat bank S.C.. This research applied an explanatory type of research design and a quantitative research approach to show the effect of the independent variable factors: skills, commitment, and accountability on the dependent variable, organizational performance. Five-point Likert Scale questionnaires were used and distributed to 152 employees of Enat bank, who were selected in a convenient sampling technique from the population, and 131 questionnaires were returned. Correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted to assess the relationship between the independent and dependent variables by using SPSS v-26 statistical software. The findings of the study indicate that, all team effectiveness variables have positive correlation with the performance of the organization. Based on the regression analysis, the effect of team’s accountability on organizational performance was positive, and significant. However, the effects of team’s skills and commitment on organizational performance were positive, but insignificant. Furthermore, team’s accountability is considered as an important determinant factor for the prediction of the bank’s performance in which the bank should give strong emphasis. Therefore, to improve teamwork and organizational performance, the bank shall work hard on increasing employees’ teamwork skills, employees’ commitment; and maintaining employees’ personal and group accountability.
