Abstract
Phytochemical investigation on the pet-ether extract of the aerial parts of Laggera
tomentosa afforded two eudesmane derivatives, 4α-acetoxy-3α-angeloyloxy-7,11-dehydroeudesman-
8-one and 4 α -acetoxy-3 α-(2’,3’-epoxy-2’-methylbutyrate)-11-hydrroxy-
6,7-dehydro-eudesman-8-one. 4α-acetoxy-3α-ang-eloyloxy-7,11-dehydroeu- desman-8-
one has been isolated before from L. tomentosa and Bluma alata. 4α-acetoxy-3α-(2’,3’-
epoxy-2’-methylbutyrate)-11-hydroxy-6,7-dehydro-eudesman-8-one has been isolated
before from Pluchea odorata but not isolated from Laggera tomentosa. Their structures
have been established by spectroscopic means.
