Abstract
Surgical site infection SSI is defined as an infection occurring at or near the surgical incision within 30 days of the operation or within one year if an implant is present. The incidence of SSIs in neurosurgical procedures ranges between 1% and 10%. Despite the recognized burden of SSIs in neurosurgery, there is a scarcity of data regarding their prevalence and risk factors among pediatric CNS tumor patients in Ethiopia Addressing SSIs in pediatric neurosurgery is essential for improving surgical outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, and enhancing the quality of life for affected children
