dc.description.abstract | CanSat is a simulation of real satellite, proposed by American professor for teaching purpose and students to get hand on experience about satellite design, but, in the time being, many developed countries were deployed CanSat for measuring weather condition and other scientific data. This research work will present design and development of CanSat to transmit, weather data from troposphere level to ground station. In this research the CanSat is build up from only locally available material. The CanSat used advanced and most reliable microcontroller, pressure and temperature sensors, accelerometer, and the radio module to communicate with the ground station, GPS accelerometer and other electrical components. Electronic circuit design, programming, structure design, aerodynamics effect is done. The CanSat measure weather condition, and GPS data from 70-meter height of building to ground station wirelessly. But This CanSat can transmit from 1000-meter height to ground station, but this is tested in 70-meter height from ground. The main mission of this research is to solve the problem of Ethiopia metrology agency. Ethiopia metrology agency invest 240 euro per day to purchase weather satellite for broadcasting daily weather data. It is use and throw. This research shows to recover the satellite, safe landing without damage and it works also for next days. This is tested using mini balloon by venting and closed by solenoid valve at specified time. Finally, the CanSat measured Data is compared to Ethiopia metrology data. And the measured data is similar. | en_US |
