Abstract

The primary goal of the research was to determine how employee commitment at Bank of Abyssinia S.C. is affected by four organizational culture traits involvement, consistency, adaptability, and mission. The study was explanatory in character and used a quantitative research approach. A stratified and purposive sampling technique was employed. The study encompassed 6039 employees at Bank of Abyssinia. Of these, 375 samples were chosen for analysis, and a questionnaire was sent to the participants. Ultimately, 300 responses met the study's criteria for analysis. Structured questionnaires were used to gather the primary data required for this purpose, while yearly reports and journal articles are used to gather secondary data. With the aid of the SPSS Version 27 software package, both descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean, standard deviation, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were performed in this study. The results showed that, compared to involvement and adaptability, which were ranked according to how much of an affect they had on the predicted variable, mission had a strongest positive and statistically significant effect on employees' commitment. On the other hand, adaptability had less of a significant effect on workers' dedication. Consistency insignificantly and positive effect on Employee commitment. Based on this finding the researcher recommended that, the bank has to clearly define its vision, mission, Goals & objectives, strategic direction & intent and has to clearly communicate to all employees, the bank should also work on Empowerment of employees in the process of decision making of the bank, create a good sense of team sprit with a sense of cooperativeness and work tirelessly on Capability Development and the management has keeps on adapting quickly to change of business environment and should encourage organizational learning practice to make the employees more innovative and creative.
