dc.description.abstractThe I/I(~j()r pit/pose (~r the stltdy was to explore opportunities and chaLLenges offemale children with polio lI'ith respect to the edltcational intervention (~f AAAPH and its ·takeholders i.e. asso 'iatioll lIIembers and their family, ENAPH, Cheshire Sen ice Ethiopia. and fOllr primary schools. The study focused on children well-beillg that is Iwlisticall) integrating ill the physical, sociaL & elllotionaL, and cognitil e deveLopJllent. In the stltdy there 11'ere a total of 21 participants drawn ji'om each stakeholder. The seLection of participants IVas JIlade using pllrposive sampling and simple random saJllpling techniques. Qllalitative research JIlethod was lIsed for the study, and data col/ection was made throllgh d~frerent techniques i.e. seJlli-structured interviell', ob ervation. foclls group discussion, and docllment analysis. Tile stlldy af/empts to point 0111 opportunities and challenges (~t'female childrell with polio ill view of the services being conducted by AAAPH and its stakeholders. Accordingly, the enrollJllent of children IVith polio in primary schools, classrooms arrangement, rewarding, counseling se/vices by the schools, the existing special needs department and disabiLity club activities in some school ', the provision of mobilif) aid and medical treatment b) stakeholders. adl'ocacy roles by ENAPH and AAAAPH are to be mentioned a the major opporlllnities. The INajor challenges that lVere sorted out in the study are the absence of assistil e technolog) in schools, lack of affordable and qualit) mobility devices, the poor economic condition of the parent.s/guardians, inadequate care and support services in the rehabilitation center. liJllited /amil,v participation ill the programs, lack (~f play grounds and recreational activities both at hOlHe and in school, resistance (~f famil) to end their children to school, absences 0/ accessibl, and affordable pre -schools in the neighborhood. Fol/owing the conclusion, pertinent recolHmendation were drawn such as strengthening partnership, quality and c([fordable mobility services, separate orthopedic treatment for females, awareness raising. accessible primm)' and pre schools, children and parental participation, strengthening resources. self reliance prograJlls for the fal11i1ylgllardians.en_US
