dc.description.abstract | A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified with electropolymerization of 4-Amino-3- Hydroxynaphthalene-1-Sulphonic acid (AHNSA) in 0.1M HNO3 using cyclic voltammetry. The modified electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytic effect on the redox property of Methyl Parathion. The bare glassy carbon electrode could barely sense the 8 M concentration solution of MPT. The modified electrode showed all the expected peaks from the MPT with high sensitivity. After the optimization of Different parameters, analytical characterization of MPT was made. The peak current increases linearly with the range of concentration of MPT used in the analysis (0.2 M-1.6 M). The detection limit was 6.3 x 10-8M by square wave voltammetry. The modified electrode has successfully been applied for the detection of MPT.
