dc.description.abstractThe foremost objective of this study is to investigate the various determinants of youth self-employment in selected sub-cities of Addis Ababa, considering primary source of data at wereda level. The sample of 708 self-employed workers has been responding the question. I have employed descriptive statistics to analyses the determinants of self-employment. The study concludes that economic independence and age of the workers have positive and significant impact on self-employment. Moreover, educational attainment and dissatisfaction with the current working wage variables also significant and positive influence on workers’ decision to be self-employed. Based on the results of findings since, Trade and Micro and small enterprise is the mainstay of Addis Ababa’s economy so government should concentrated on formulating policy that solve the economic determinants that affect the decision of self- Ababa in general employment in the selected sub-cities and in Addis Ababa in general.en_US
