dc.description.abstractTraining and development are continuous process in improving the caliber of employees. The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of training and development on employees’ performance in All Africa Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Rehabilitation and Training Center (ALERT) Training design and delivery methods are used as a variable to the dependent variable employee performance. To conduct this study an explanatory research method was employed. The study was done based on primary and secondary data sources. A quantitative research approach of the data collection was used .The samples were taken from total of 536 ALERT health staff employees 117 were participated. The study was carried out simple random sampling techniques in order to select participants out of the nine divisions in All Africa Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Rehabilitation and Training Center (ALERT). Data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study made use of descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the data. The correlation analysis indicates that all relationship between the independent variable training design and training and development methods and employee performance are positively and significantly correlated. The result of regression indicates that the independent variables have accounted 55.4% of variance on dependent variable. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended ALERT to keep constantly review its training and development practices carefully so as to improve employee performance because there exists a significant relationship between training design and training methods with employee performance.
