Abstract
N,N’-bis(3-quinoxaline-2-one)diaminopropane, (BQxDP) , and its complexes with metal
ions of Cd(II), Ni(II) ,Zn(II), Fe(II), Cr(III), Mn(II) and VO+2 were prepared and
characterized by IR, 1H & 13C NMR, electronic spectra and elemental analysis. The IR,
1H NMR, electronic spectra and elemental analysis are consistent with the formation of
the ligand (BQxDP). The elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra are also consistent
with the formation of Fe(II) complex. The structures of metal complexes are proposed by
the IR spectra, quantitative tests of metals, chlorides sulphates and elemental analysis of
the ligand. The IR spectra of all complexes indicate that the metal ions are coordinated to
the azomethine nitrogen
