Schistosomiasis is one of the world health organizations (WHO), great neglected disease. It is the second most prevalent tropical disease with 200 million people infected and 500 million at risk. The disease spread by cercaria infested water using fresh water snail as intermediate host .Intestinal schistosomiasis caused by Schistosoma mansoni infection is a widely distributed disease in several localities of Ethiopia. Now there are about 4 million people reported to be infected and 30 million at risk of schistosomiasis in the country. The major risk factors for increase prevalence of the parasite are population movement and water development schemes. The aims of this research is the assessment of schistosomiasis mansoni risk areas in relation with environmental factors and tries to analyze Schistosomiasis mansoni incidence with some of the natural and socio-economic factors using Remote sensing and GIS techniques using risk model developed by shook. It is indicated that 4020.5 ha high, 4462.5 ha moderate and 17 ha Low level of schistosomiasis mansoni vulnerability, hence 47.3 percent, 52.5 percent and 2 percent of the study area respectively are subject to high moderate and low level of schistosomiasis mansoni susceptibility.en_US
