| dc.description.abstract | As China's construction industry has expanded globally, particularly into developing countries, the issue of CSR has come under increasing scrutiny. Chinese construction firms operating abroad face unique challenges in meeting social, environmental, and regulatory frameworks. The intention of the study was to investigate the CSR policies and practices of CSCEC upon engaging in various construction projects in Ethiopia. In order to achieve this objective, the researcher selected exploratory methodology to help address the research questions. In addition, descriptive statistical quantitative technique was relied upon. The target population of this research was head office employees of CSCES. A sample size of 126 was drawn from the target population using sample random sampling technique. It was found out that A significant portion of surveyed individuals possess some awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), yet 51.8% feel the company's CSR policy lacks transparency for stakeholders. This suggests limited efforts in promoting CSR awareness through training. While CSCEC shows active engagement in community development initiatives, its commitment to ethical standards and philanthropic activities remains minimal. Additionally, respondents believe the CSR policy falls short in providing a competitive advantage, indicating a need for improvement in economic responsibility.
