    Bibliometric Analysis of the Literature on Ethiopian Studies

    A bibliometric study has been done on a bibliographic population to examine the characteristic features of Ethiopian Studies literature. For this purpose, a bibliographic database on the subject, containing more than 5500 records has been developed based on Ethiopian History and Society. A bibliography of Ethiopian Studies 1957-1990 (1 99 1 ) by J. Abbink and a few citations collected from journal s on Ethiopian Studies. Distribution of exponentiality. The 80/20 - rule using the formula given by Egghe did not apply to the data . It applies only as 80/31 in journal productivity and 80 / 48 in author productivity .
