Assessing the Match Between the Coach’s Micro-Plan and Middle-Distance Athletes’ Subjective Load Responses: the Practices in Selected First Division Athletics Clubs in Addis Ababa
(Addis Ababa University, 2020-12) Zelalem Abera; Zeru Bekele
This study aimed at identifying the relationships between coaches’ micro-plan load distributions and athletes’ subjective load response in week of middle-distance events in three Addis Ababa first divisions Athletics clubs. The study applied cross sectional study design as a general approach. From five first division athletics clubs three clubs were randomly selected with total sample of 30 participants in the study. Both qualitative and quantitative method have been utilized to analyze the collected data through questionnaire and interview. The subjective load responses of thirty middle-distance runners were measured for training volume and session rate of perceive exertion (RPE) (daily), training session and training monotony (weekly) for a single micro-plan and descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, standard division, standard error and mean) also included to interpret the result. The match between coaches’ predefined plan and athletes’ load response were varied; therefore, performance of individual athletes was also varied within and between three club athletes. The findings of the study indicated that the predefined plan has a direct or indirect impact on middle distance athletes. The more experienced athletes show a better sRPE and result than the other.

The Introduction of Limited Liability Partnership in the New Commercial Code of Ethiopia
(Addis Ababa University, 2025-01-01) Zelalem Abera; Tilahun Teshome
The limited liability partnership (LLP) is a relatively recent form of business organization that has gained legal recognition, setting it apart from more traditional structures. This particular entity is specifically reserved for use by certain professional individuals, such as lawyers, physicians, accountants, medical doctors and so on. The primary advantage of the LLP is that it offers a shielding of personal liability for its partners, limiting their exposure to the extent of their individual ownership share in the partnership. The primary objective of this research is to assess the clarity and adequacy of the legal framework governing LLPs. Key issues explored include the lack of specificity regarding the types of professionals eligible to establish LLPs, ambiguities in partner liability, and concerns over the fairness of cash payouts for departing partners. Additionally, the study addresses challenges in the decision-making process, particularly the implications of the two-thirds majority vote requirement in partnerships with only two members. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining doctrinal analysis of pertinent legal texts with qualitative interviews of legal experts and practitioners. The findings aim to pinpoint gaps in the existing regulatory framework and propose recommendations to improve the clarity and fairness of LLP provisions. Ultimately, this study aspires to deepen the understanding of LLPs in Ethiopia, offering valuable insights for policymakers, legal practitioners, and stakeholders navigating an evolving business landscape
