    The effect of sustainable supply chain management practices on sustainable performances of organizations: The case of Large and Medium Food and Beverage Processing Firms in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

    Currently sustainability is a major concern on the local and international levels. The food and beverage processing industries are one of the major sectors that are given significant focus and that are globally facing environmental, social, economic and political challenges. Unlike developed nations in developing countries like ours the understanding as well as implementation of the sustainability concept is considered to be infantile and also the impact that it could have on performance is not well studied. This paper tried to analyze the effect of SSCMP on the sustainable performance in the case large and medium food and beverage processing firms in Adiss Ababa, Ethiopia. Quantitative Research Approach and Cross- sectional descriptive research design was followed in this thesis research. According to Ethiopian national statical agency report in 2018, there are 259 food and beverage processing firms in Addis Ababa, and the sample size was calculated by using Krejcie and Morgan formula. The simple random sampling technique and structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. the findings of this research conclude that green procurement, sustainable packaging, sustainable distribution, and sustainable reverse logistics has a significant and positive effect on sustainable performance of large and medium food and beverage processing firms in Addis Ababa, but according to the results sustainable design has no effect on sustainable performance of large and medium food and beverage processing firms in Addis Ababa, ETHIOPIA. According to this study its recommended companies in the food and beverage industries to focus and work more on green procurement, sustainable packaging, sustainable distribution, and sustainable reverse logistics, Key words: green procurement, sustainable design, sustainable packaging, sustainable distribution, sustainable reverse logistics.
