    Plans must be in place before a disaster or pandemic strikes in order to reduce damage and maintain control. Hospitals play a leading role in disaster and incidence response by identifying inpatients that can be safely discharged early, and can create additional surge capacity. Implementing reverse triage allows hospitals to optimize resources and prioritize patients based on their medical needs
