    Assessment Of Practices And Challenges Of Implementing Ict Project Management In Ethio-Telecom

    This research is conducted to assess the practice of project management knowledge areas and challenges in implementing ICT projects in Ethio-Telecom. To achieve this purpose questionnaire were distributed among 100 Telecom Expansion Projects employee participated in the implementation of these projects and selected using simple random sampling. Apart from survey questionnaires, interview with project managers and document reviews were also conducted. Finally, the collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics by applying SPSS. Project scope management, project time management, project quality management, project risk management, project communication and project stakeholders knowledge area are highly practiced during the implementation of the ICT projects whereas project integration management project time management and project procurement management knowledge areas are practiced at low level lack of relevant training and procurement delay were the main challenges during the implementation of the ICT projects . Therefore, it’s recommended that the organization should give special attention to the least practiced knowledge area i.e. project integration management, project cost management, project human resource management and project procurement management knowledge areas. The company should introduce different systems/ tools such as project management software as it is very important in implementing the ICT projects. In addition, the organization should introduce and strengthen project management office. This office helps in practicing the project management knowledge areas (PMI, 2013).
