a Study of Periodic Solution for a Class of Second Order Differential Equations
(Addis Ababa University, 2017-08) Dillo Asfaw; Abdi Tadesse (PhD)
In this paper we give sufficient conditions ensuring that the periodic solutions for a class of second order differential Equations and positive periodic solutions of second-order differential equations ; system of periodic solutions for autonomous and nonlinear differential equations, each of which has at least one periodic solution. This paper consists three parts. In the first part of this paper, we study periodic solutions for second order differential equations are provided. The method of proof relies on the Schauder’s fixed point theorem. In the second part, we have obtained existence results for single and multiple positive periodic solutions of second order differential equation. The results are based on a fixed Point theorem for cones. In the third part, periodic solutions for nonlinear differential equations and autonomous systems are considered. Finally, in each part of the paper, prototypical examples are provided to illustrate the main results of the paper and conclusion is drawn as well.
