Item The Effect of Organizational Structure on Entrepreneurial Orientation: The Mediating Role of Organizational Culture in the Basic Metals Industry of Ethiopia(A.A.U, 2020-07) Dawit, Getachew; Ethiopia, Legesse (D. Sc.)The Study examines the Effect of Organizational structure on Entrepreneurial Orientation with the mediating role of Organizational Culture in the Basic Metals Industry of Ethiopia. The research used Organizational theory to evaluate its effect on Entrepreneurial Orientation and in doing so it integrates Organizational Culture to investigate its mediating role robustly. Primary data were used on 19 Basic Metals manufacturing companies to solicit response of 95 respondents. Out of questionnaires that have been distributed, all were usable. An exploratory factor analysis was conducted and structural equation modeling techniques that fulfills measurement construct validity and reliability through AMOS, version 23 software was used. The Result showed OS has a statistically significant negative effect on EO. However, the mediating variable OC have no mediation role between OS and EO. Similarly, Centralization and Formalization individually does not exhibit a significant effect on EO. In terms of testing second order variables, the result indicates that out of three variables that make out OS construct complexity and formalization have significant positive association with second order variable OS. Likewise, autonomy and innovativeness are first order variables and have significant positive association with second order variable EO. This study suggests the importance for rethinking and reviewing the current organizational structure. Also, since the companies rely on employees for their mass production, employees need to be regularly updated and build their capacity on regular bases that would address the strategic orientation elements gapItem Thermal Comfort for Passenger Train from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa(Addis Ababa University, 2014-10) Dawit, Getachew; Demiss, Alemu (PhD)Air conditioning in passenger train is an effort to obtain controlled environmental conditions in accordance with the needs of passenger comfort and the passenger does not feel cold or hot. However, passengers will feel comfortable during the trip despite travel long distances and ravel times. Thermal comfort for the passengers inside the carriage is influenced by external and internal loads. The thermal environment when the passenger train travel from Dire dawa to Addis Ababa is hot that affect the driver's and passengers' health, performance and comfort. Due to spatial and temporal variation of state variables and boundary conditions in the vehicle cab, the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) does not have to be designed to provide a uniform environment, especially because of individual differences regarding to physiological and psychological. The objective of this paper focused on the design of a passenger railway air conditioning system through the route of Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa using Hourly Analysis program (HAP) software for estimating the thermal loads analysis and system design ,and Analytical method to estimate a thermal load only. Finally, the total cooling load using both methods HAP and Analytical methods 49.9kw and 48.74kw respectively, we designed the vehicle HVAC system and select the suitable Roof mounted package unit(RMPU) . Based on the design, conditioned the passenger compartment temperature at 23.5 o C with a humidity of 50% during winter or summer can feel comfortable. When the air condition inside the car less than 23 C with RH 60% felt uncomfortable.
