Item Right of the Child for Protection From Corporal Punishment in Home Setting: The Law and the Practice at the Federal Courts of Ethiopia(Addis Ababa University, 2024-09-01) Betelhem Mekonnen; Wondmagen T. Goshu (PhD)This study had assessed the gap that exists in law and practice at federal courts. Empirical legal research method was employed while undertaking the research. Data was gathered from Federal first instance court and federal public prosecutors offices of selected branches using structured interviews, non -participant observation, court records as primary data and legal documents, academic literatures and reports were used as secondary source of data. It is discovered that there is actual gap in law but the practice is in-line with child corporal punishment international laws to some extent. However, the practice had ignored principle of legality issue for parents.
