This helped the frequency of coverage, tone, themes, sources of information, and frames of news used. The researcher used purposive sampling for news content analysis. The Reports of the two media houses on the current political turmoil from September 2016 to October 2017 were chosen as this period was the time when the turmoil was too acute. The study found that the reports that stability report were dominantly used by EBC while reports focusing on Provocation for mass rally were the dominant themes for OMN. Further, the study found that the two media houses were polarized in reporting the turmoil due to the fact that the EBC supported the incumbent government actions and opposed anything against it while the OMN strongly supported the oppositions and blamed the government for all the ills. The study further found that the two media houses produced the majority of their news stories using with own journalists except that EBC using few news stories from ENA. The two media houses have never used each other’s news story as sources too. At last, EBC tried to either avoid numerical reports or reduce the numbers of causalties in a meaningful way while OMN exaggerate the number of victims in causalities.
