Girmay, Abiy (MD, MPH, PhD)kebede, Mideksa2018-11-192023-11-052018-11-192023-11-052018-06http://etd.aau.edu.et/handle/123456789/14375Ethiopia Field Epidemiology Training Program (EFETP) is a two years competency based master’s program adapted from United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) Epidemic Intelligence service (EIS) program .Addis Ababa University, the Federal Ministry of Health of Ethiopia/Ethiopian public health institute(EPHI), The Ethiopian Public Health Association(EPHA) and Regional Health Bureaus run the program jointly. It compriseD of 25% class learning and 75% field activities, working in public health emergency and other related priority issues. It is designed to assist the Ministry of Health in building or strengthening health systems by selecting health workers and building their competencies through on the job mentorship and training. This compiled body of works composed of seven chapters accomplished during the two years residency period .It comprises two outbreak investigation, surveillance data analysis report, surveillance system evaluation, one abstract on measles data analysis, health profile description report, finalized scientific manuscript for peer review journals and protocol or proposal for Epidemiologic research project All the outputs during the residency period were complied in to single document .the first chapter consist of outbreak investigation ,two outbreaks were investigated ,Cholera in kolfe keraniyo sub city Addis Ababa city, Ethiopia in September 2017 and Malaria in Dasenech district, Libemuket cluster of five villages(Libemuket,cs,gumburbur,gumburburdebermus and Bayo) South Omo zone, Southern Nation and Nationalities of People Region, Ethiopia, in May,2018 .the second chapter is surveillance data analysis on Description of Five Years Measles facility report in Kolfe Keraniyo Sub city from January, 2012-March, 2017, surveillance system evaluation was conducted in kolfe keraniyo sub city ,Addis Ababa ,Ethiopia, march, 2017 .Health profile description report was conducted in woreda nine, kolfe keraniyo sub city Addis Ababa, 2017.one manuscript and one abstract was prepared.
