Cancer diagnosis and treatment can lead to sleep disturbance worsen pre-existing sleep problem. Sleep disturbance are often associated with the psychological effects of cancer, as well as physical illness, pain, hospitalization, and specific medical treatment. Sleep disturbance are common in cancer patient that have negative health effects; sleep problems are rarely recognized or addressed in cancer practice. Objective: To assess sleep disturbance and associated factors among adult cancer patients on treatment in Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital Mekelle Ethiopia.2019 Methods: Hospital based quantitative, cross-sectional study design will be conducted among adult cancer patients on treatment in Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital Mekelle Ethiopia. 2019.between February 25 and April 15/2019. Eligible study subjects will be enrolled conveniently. Standardized Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) will be used to gather information from participants. Data will be cleaned coded and entered into Epi-info data version 3.5.3 and exported into SPSS software version 24 for analysis. Descriptive statistics will be used to describe the socio-demographic characteristic and logistic regression including bivariate and multivariate analysis will be used to examine association between dependent and independent variables, and P-value less than 0.05 will be considered as the level of significance for associations. Conclusion: Conclusion and recommendation will be drawn based on the study findings.
