Before and after intervention comparison was incorporated to evaluate the poverty alleviation through microcredit by using some indicators. Parameters such as monthly income, monthly saving, economic status, impact on the empowerment of women, and targeting the real poor have been thoroughly assessed. The researcher used both qualitative and quantitative methods to obtain a reliable data. Data were derived from a questionnaire survey of a sample of 98 clients of AdCSI‟s in Yeka sub city. In addition, interviews were carried out with 13 clients. The study indicated that the income and saving levels of the majority of the clients have increased after joining AdCSI‟s. Encouraging results have also been shown in the enhancement of the women‟s decision making with respect to the capability to work on their own and improve their lives.
