The treaties of many of the RECs made reference to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights as a common standard to achieve higher normative standard through out the regions. Furthermore, some RECs involve in the enforcement of human rights for violations under the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights and other Conventions that a state concerned is party in addition to the communities’ treaties, conventions and protocols.
