By applying the qualitative research method 20 respondents are selected, 10 step-mothers and 5 step families, and 5 key informants. Results are reported as step mothers are boorish family members to step children, they are biased and inclined to biological children unable to smooth communication with stepchildren. Step families reported as they are believed dysfunctional, and frequent conflicts are myths given irrespective of the reality of life, also they are assumed as living in frequent conflict.en-USStep Mother, Step Family, Stereotype, Myths, Coping StrategyThesis
