To do so, this study employed both quantitative and qualitative methods (mixed method). And quantitative and qualitative content analyses and interview were used as a data collect ion too ls. Based on the availability of the data, news that was broadcasted withal six months of time fi"llme was gathered. Accord ulgly, a total of one hundred and twenty news stories· were se lected by USUlg systematic random sampling method. Similarly based on their fi·equent involvement on reporting development news, five senior reporters and two ed itors were interv iewed. TI,e data were analyzed based on the categories (unit of ana lysis) that were derived fi·om the principle of development journa lism news and deve lopment journa lism mode~ and characteristics of television liews presentation. Both quantitative and qualitative content analysis methods were used to analyze the data. The finding of the research shows, EBC's bulletproof Amharic news program gives high emphasis to development issues. However, these stories are United to economic developments whereas, other development issues have not been given enough attention and negative stories are hardly covered. Since the news station only focuses on in loaning people about the development issues, investigation and depth reporting have been neglected.
