This study depends on data gathered from managers/supervisors, senior staffs and Clerical employees of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia north Addis Ababa district. The study used quantitative research approach and Explanatory research design. The data used in the study was primary data collected through questionnaires adopted from prior literatures. The scope of the research was delimited to randomly selected branches of north Addis Ababa district offices of Commercial bank of Ethiopia. Conceptually the four dimensions of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management were used. The Wang and law emotional intelligence scale was used to measure the emotional intelligence level of employees and Suzy Fox and Paul E. Specto organizational citizenship behavior check list was used to measure level of employee’s organizational citizenship behavior. Information gathered from respondents using five points Likert scale was analyzed using inferential and descriptive statistics. The findings of the study demonstrated that there was a positive effect of emotional intelligence on employee’s organizational citizenship behavior.
