To achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive research design was used while the research approach was both qualitative and quantitative. The information was obtained through a questionnaire from a sample of 384 drivers and 6 experts and officials through interviewing. The collected data were analyzed using the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). This research includes both probability sampling and non-probability sampling techniques. The probability sampling technique used stratified sampling techniques to select samples from the list of trucks of every transport association and organization. Non-probability sampling techniques based on purposive sampling using the researcher's criteria interview was conducted with regulatory bodies of MoTL, ECC and EMAA experts. The main findings of the study are some of the major challenges of freight transport through the Ethio-Djibouti corridor; less work performance of the regulatory bodies in the corridor, low utilization of technology, infrastructure (road, electricity, and telecom) problems, and lack of integration among the stakeholders, lack of commitment to solve the problem, lack of skilled manpower. Finally based on the findings, the researcher recommended that government and relevant stakeholders have to work together to address the overall challenges of freight transport; to increase trip frequency; to improve low infrastructure, technology, complex procedures in the custom process to strengthen the stakeholders through the Ethio-Djibouti that corridor.
