This paper assesses the role of internal auditors in ensuring effective financial control Ethiopian budgetary sectors. The study employs a cross sectional survey to investigate the role of internal audit in ensuring effective financial control and descriptive statistic will be used to analyze the data from the survey. The methodology employed for data collection is primary source and secondary source. Primary source involves the questionnaires, in which 68 questionnaires will administered to the staff of Accounting and Internal audit department of 17 Ministries from a total of 25 Ministries. The data to be generated for the study will be interpreted using simple percentage and mean.
