This paper reviews the scientific literatures linking nicotine with its effect on histological and functional system of cerebral cortex of the brain. Studies were assessed by focusing on the dose of nicotine, duration of exposure, type of experimental animals and mechanism of exposing which were used to measure the effect of nicotine. The literatures reviewed in the present paper used human being, dogs, fetal and adolescent rats, and postnatal piglets as experimental animals. From the literatures reviewed in the present paper, nicotine showed to be neurotoxin alkaloid which affects the neurochemistry of brain, cause abnormalities in brain morphology, neurodegeneration, and histological alternation in hippocampus, cerebral cortex and in different parts of the brain.en-USNicotine, cerebral cortex, histophatological effect, neurochemistryProject paper on histological and functional effect of nicotine on cerebral cortex of the brainThesis
