Poor communication has negative impacts even if the project is successful. Concise, clear communication helps prevent confusion. Keep your communications brief, direct, and uncomplicated. The effectiveness of communication can make the difference between a successful endeavor and one that does not quite work out. In this respect, this study was assess the cause and effect of of Poor Communication in Construction Projects on Selected Sites of Addis Ababa Housing Development Corporation. To overcome the task three specific objectives identified. These are assessing the root cause of poor communication in construction projects of condominium housing projects, assessing the effects of poor communication in construction projects of condominium housing projects and assessing measures that have to take to overcome the problem of poor communication in construction projects of condominium projects. About 133 questionnaire were distributed for respondents (40 clients, 30 consultants, and 63 contractor professionals) who were involved in the project received a paper questionnaire, of which 128 (40 clients, 28 consultants, and 60 contractor professionals) were returned. Six professionals were interviewed in-depth (2(two) from the customer, 2(two) from the consultant, and 2(two) from the contractor) in order to get comprehensive information on the topic. Relative importance index (RII) was used to analyse and rank the cause and effect of poor communication issues found in the condominium housing construction project. The top five major causes of poor communication ranked by respondents were lack of support for advanced communication technologies, lack of understanding among parties, poor planning and coordination, poor communication management and weak organizational structure. The top five major effects of poor communication ranked by respondents were time overrun, waste generation, cost overrun, poor risk management, reworkand redesign occurrence.
